Canon's new MV20 digital camcorder is so compact you'll be taking it with you wherever you go. To locations you didn't think were possible. To make films that will amaze you with their colour and clarity. Fitting neatly in the palm of your hand, the MV20 can be used as a video camera to shoot either still or moving images.
Perfect digital photography - in sunshine or in shade
With the help of Canon's award-winning progressive scan CCD image sensor, you can also use the MV20 as a fully-featured digital stills camera. To capture up to 500 top quality single or continuous frame images on a single tape, without a loss in resolution and without the image flicker often produced by similar systems. Whatever the lighting, perfect photos are yours for the taking. Out in the sunshine on the ski slopes or back in front of a cosy log fire. And because the MV20 can capture up to 25 full-frame images per second in Progressive Scan Mode, even the fastest moving subject can be recorded without distortion.
Multi-image Screen
One special feature of the MV20 is the Multi-image Screen. This allows you to 'divide' the LCD screen into 4, 9 or 16 separate screens and display a series of images in sequence. A setting sun, for example, or the hidden secrets of a golf swing. You can also select the transition speed - manual, fast, moderate or slow.
Get a little closer: 12x optical and 48x digital zoom
Canon's expertise and experience in optical technology is reflected in the MV20's long 12x Optical Zoom lens. Together with the 48x Digital Zoom and Optical Image Stabilisation, you'll find you've got everything you need to get as close as you like.

Stimulate your creativity with digital effects
With the MV20 in your hand, your imagination is the limit when it comes to creativity. A range of Digital Effects and the Easy Dubbing Mode enables you to add that 'something special' to each of your movies. Options include Wipe, Scroll, Fade and Mosaic Fading, while you can also try Art, Black and White, Mosaic or Sepia. You can add them while you're recording, or during playback or dubbing.
Audio dubbing feature
A truly special feature of the MV20 is Audio Dubbing. You can use this to create and add your own commentary or soundtrack to your footage, thereby enhancing or explaining the images, or creating a 'story'. Whether it's a film you've made for fun, a family holiday film, or a film you're using for your work, sound always adds that extra 'professional' element.
Small camera - large screen
One of the reasons the MV20 is a pleasure to use is its large and adjustable 2.5" full-colour LCD Viewing Screen. Folding to fit neatly and safely into the side of the camera when not in use, the screen helps you achieve perfect image composition and get exactly the shot you want. Angle it away from the camera and tilt it to give yourself perfect sighting. Or use it for an on-the-spot private screening of what you've just recorded.
Bright natural colours
The MV20 is as good as it looks. Its unique progressive scan CCD includes a special RGB Primary Colour Filter. Just like professional video cameras, this filters the light passing into your camera into individual components, enabling a much more accurate and natural colour reproduction than you would expect.
