Which DigiSuite platform is right for you?
With the recent launch of DigiSuite DTV, the Matrox DigiSuite family has grown to three platforms, DigiSuite, DigiSuite DTV, and DigiSuite LE. All three DigiSuite platforms share the same award-winning mix/effects engine and advanced productivity features and they are compatible with more software applications than any other realtime editing platform. All of them offer broadcast-quality analog video and audio I/O, as well as optional SDI and 1394 I/O. They are all compatible with the realtime 3D DVE option. Each has specific features that address the needs of particular post-production environments. No matter which you choose, you'll find the quality of your productions and your productivity boost to be exceptional.
DigiSuite features uncompressed-quality video. It is ideal for you if you work with a variety of analog and/or digital tape formats and won't settle for anything less than uncompressed quality. If you are looking to preserve your video assets in the highest possible format, DigiSuite's lossless encoding is the right choice.

DigiSuite also provides maximum creative freedom with a third channel of realtime DVE and color correction that you can use on your graphics layer. The other two platforms offer DVE and color correction on two video streams.

Adobe Premiere RT, Discreet edit*, in-sync Speed Razor RT, IMC Incite, and United Media On-Line Express all run on DigiSuite.

DigiSuite DTV provides native DV, DV50, and MPEG-2 multi-format editing. If you are primarily working with DV source material, or you regularly output in MPEG-2 for applications such as broadcast transmission or DVD authoring, then DigiSuite DTV is the best solution for you.

DigiSuite DTV lets you combine DV and DV50 sources on the same timeline. You get the benefit of both formats because you can use DV for video acquisition and DV50 as the preferred format for graphics, animation, multi-layer compositing and other special effects. DigiSuite DTV lets you export your projects in native DV, DV50, and MPEG-2.

The optional Matrox SDTI interface card for DigiSuite DTV provides eight embedded audio I/O channels and faster than realtime DV and DV50 transfers. An additional codec onboard the SDTI card provides realtime DV and MPEG-2 print-to-disk, realtime SDTI output, realtime MPEG-to-DV and DV-to-MPEG transcoding, and realtime MPEG-to-MPEG transcoding for GOP structure and bit rate modifications.

DigiSuite DTV currently runs Adobe Premiere RT and in-sync Speed Razor RT. It is bundled with the LE version of Sonic DVDit! DVD authoring software. IMC and United Media have started working on DTV support but haven't made official announcements yet. Discreet edit* is not supported on DigiSuite DTV.

DigiSuite LE is our value-priced platform. If you primarily use Betacam SP or Digital Betacam equipment, then DigiSuite LE is a great solution for you. It features the highest M-JPEG data rates on the market, exceeding 15 MB/sec per stream (30 MB/sec combined). That's 500 KB/frame in NTSC and 600 KB/frame in PAL, a compression ratio of 1.3:1. With DigiSuite LE, you can also capture DV material over the 1394 port into high quality 4:2:2 M-JPEG streams for realtime editing.

All five editing applications, Adobe Premiere RT, Discreet edit*, in-sync Speed Razor RT, IMC Incite, and United Media On-Line Express run on DigiSuite LE.
